The Torre del Oro has three perfectly distinguishable bodies and each one was built in a different period. The first body was built between 1220 and 1221 by order of the Almohad Seville governor Abù I-Ulà. The second body was the work of Pedro I el Cruel in the 14th century. Finally, in 1760, the military engineer Sebastián Van der Borcht finished the tower with another body finished in a dome. More specifically speaking, it is located next to the Maestranza bullring, to the left of the Guadalquivir River.
