Description
This mod is designed around using a bowden extruder to reduce sagging and increase responsiveness/speed. I also liked the idea of moving the Y-axis rods closer to the hotend and Z-axis lead screw to make the mechanical assemblies closer together. I have only tested this in a belt drive configuration, but the files are there to use good 'ol string too.
Instructions
This is a BETA design and has the following known issues. (Please report your issues and I will try to fix them as well.): - The Z-screw is VERY close to the rear bearings. I had to modify the part to move the delrin nut and gain enough clearance. - If you have a hotend that is shorter than the Ubis (like my E3Dv6) you will need to swap your Y & Z motors so that the Z-coupler is lower. Otherwise, the bearing will hit the coupler before the Z-axis is fully homed. - The tensioners that I designed are crap. I encourage you to find better ones that will fit, as I have done. - The clamps that hold the end plates to the Y-axis rods will crack if you do not use washers and/or you over tighten. - If you print this in PLA you will probably need a fan to keep the extruder motor from melting the mounting flange... I learned the hard way.
