Description
Way back in late 2012 I suspended my Extruder from a few rubber bands and wire ties and showed it off at the worlds first MRRF festival in 2013. It looked god awful but it worked. I believe it was Phil Briski, a member of the MakerHive, that dubbed it "Air Struding".
Another member, Jim Spencer suggested I replace the Rubber bands with Bungee cords.
I cleaned up the suspension using bungees and a metal plate from an old erector set.
You can see it here at the very beginning of the video. This video was shot at the Second MRRF festival in 2014

I then noticed that someone else here had the same Idea back in 2013 called the "Flying Extruder" you can read their post here

It is a complicated system of pulleys and belts.
Since then I have been working on a printable carriage for the extruder. Still in testing but here are version one and version 2.
Instructions
You will need 3 bungee cords. I got mine from Menards, $4.95 for a box of 25.
I drilled a 0.125" hole in the center of the plastic arm support that is attached to the Skates, but you can do what ever you need to so the bungees can be attached to the center of the skates.
Shorten the boaden tube to about 3" +/- If you use the outer limits of you bed a lot I would recommend you don't go under 3", maybe try 4" as the tube does bend quite sharp when on the outer edges. But I have had no problems with mine.
